DEVA Broadcast DB6400
DB6400 is a Fully DSP-based, top quality 4-Band Audio Processor
The long years of experience at the top level of broadcasting technologies, as well as the indisputable expertise of our engineering team brought forth a brand new audio processing tool. We showcased the DB6400 FM and Digital Radio 4-Band Audio Processor.
Nevertheless, the DSP-based Stereo Encoder guarantees precision of the MPX signal with advanced peak control. And also, there are two independently-configurable composite MPX outputs. The DB6400 offers perfect audio clarity no matter what the source material is. It is a complete processing architecture: Wide band AGC with “Intelligent Gating”, 4-band Parametric EQ, Bass FX, Treble FX, 4-Band HQ-Sound dynamic processor with Fidelity control and Sound Impact. It also includes 4-Band Limiter, FM Limiter with advanced distortion pre-emphasis control and HD Lookahead Limiter.
Another feature that distinguishes the DB-6400 from other products in its category is its Fallback function. The cutting-edge device is able to detect signal loss. In the case of silence at the main audio input, it automatically switches over to a backup source. There is always a constant audio feed. What is more? It send an email notification immediately which allows for an instant response on the part of your technical support team. Through the use of a standard FTP client, it leaves an opportunity to update the backup content at will via any PC. Moreover, the automatic return to the main audio source as soon as the default input is restored is an additional asset. Yet, all silence sense parameters are user-defined.
The User Interface
Needless to say, the DB-6400 comes with a user-friendly, comprehensive and well-organized user interface. The front panel provide an access is remotely via TCP/IP and by using the WEB interface through iOS, Android or any other mobile device.
Furthermore, it is a one-of-a-kind device. In addition, it is the peak of DEVA’s engineering achievements. It combines simplicity of use, affordability of price and top performance. It does all these by employing an array of technical parameters which you can rarely find in any other device of its class.

Alan Everard –
We recently purchased a DEVA DB6400 FM processor for our community radio station in Yorkshire. Although we have been on-air over 12 years this was our first purchase of a proper DSP processor, having previously used the analogue 5 band processor that came with our TX Techniques transmitter. Although a compact 1u unit , it is packed full of features. Unlike our analogue unit, the DEVA contains a multitude of adjustments for every imaginable parameter, of not only audio processor chain, but also the stereo and RDS encoders. Very sensibly the DB6400 comes with a number of presets, that makes it easy to get it operational very quickly. The web interface is a brilliant way of setting the unit, rather than trying to navigate the menus from front panel buttons. Beware that Internet Explorer is not the most reliable browser to use with the web interface. Firefox works faultlessly.
We spent almost 5 days making minor changes to the sound and levels, before we were entirely happy with the new sound of the station, but we are very fussy!! We do not currently use the internal RDS encoder, as we were quite happy with our existing unit located at our transmitter site. The ability to make minor adjustments to the deviation and pilot levels from the aerial site, using an internet enabled laptop is just marvellous.
Transmitter-R-Us suggested that the DEVA would be a good purchase for the station and indeed they were right!! Check out the sound of the Tempo 107.4 FM on: http://www.tempofm.co.uk
