Biquad DAP4-FM

The Biquad DAP4-FM processor has audio inputs and outputs in digital and analog format, as well as an internal digital stereo encoder with highly professional performance (> 80 dB @ 10Hz-16KHz) for sending the signal directly to the transmitter or link.

Processing two audio channels (left and right).
It has input AGC divided into 2 independent bands, followed by multiband processing with AGCs and limiters in 5 independent bands.
It has an exclusive intelligent pre-emphasis control.  Features specific tools for FM processing, providing extremely competitive and high-fidelity audio in the air.
Bass, mid and treble enhancer and stereo expansion built into the product.
It can be controlled via software from anywhere, over the internet or locally via a USB connection, with its
completely dynamic, pleasant, intuitive and easy to operate reading and control software .
It has 20 preset presets for various types of different programs: rock, pop, generic, harmonic, etc.
In addition, with 20 presets that can be customised and saved by the user.
It also presents the possibility of automatic programming of changing presets throughout the day and week.

On its front panel there is a touch screen display, allowing access to some parameters of control and reading of equipment operation.
Developed in a 19 ”wide rack standard, with two rack units high (2UR) and 30cm deep.
Finished in high standard brushed stainless steel.

2. ANALOGUE AUDIO INPUT L / R

  • FILTER: Selectable high-pass filter (OFF / 30/40/50/60 Hz) and selectable low-pass filter (16/25 KHz)

3. AES-3 STANDARD DIGITAL AUDIO INPUT

Same features of the analog audio input except for some specific differences of this signal format:
  • IMPEDANCE: 110Ω balanced and isolated via transformer.
  • SAMPLING RATE: 32, 44.1, 48, 88.1 and 96 kHz automatically selected.
  • CONNECTORS: Female XLR type with EMI suppression.
  • NOMINAL INPUT LEVEL: Adjustable via software -18 dBFS to 0 dBFS

4. ANALOGUE AUDIO OUT (MONITOR)

  • CONFIGURATION: Possibility of configuration: Stereo / Mono on the left channel / Mono on the right channel / Mono by the sum of both channels.
  • OPERATION MODES: Process processed with pre-emphasis / Process processed with pre-emphasis and de-emphasis for greater control of high frequency peaks / Process processed without application of pre-emphasis - Flat / Bypass mode - the output is connected directly to the input signal.
  • FILTER: Low-pass filter (FIR) with selectable cutoff frequency (16/25 KHz).
  • IMPEDANCE: Source impedance - 50 Ω, electronically balanced with servo control. (Minimum acceptable load impedance: 600Ω or greater - balanced or unbalanced).
  • OUTPUT LEVEL: Adjustable between -11 dBu to +18 dBu for 100% peak modulation @ 600Ω load or greater.
  • SIGNAL RELATIONSHIP x NOISE: ≥ 100 dB without weighting (Bypass mode, 30 Hz - 15 kHz, referenced to 100% modulation).
  • CROSSTALK: ≤ -85 dB, 30 Hz - 15 kHz.

6. ANALOGUE AUDIO OUT (TX)

Two outputs with individually controlled levels through software.
  • Balanced MPX Output - Electronically balanced with floating earth and buffered for minimum loads of 8Ω, it can be configured to provide the 19KHz pilot signal.
  • Unbalanced MPX Output - Electronically “buffered” to support loads with a minimum of 8Ω.
  • SOURCE IMPEDANCE: 20Ω for the balanced output / 10Ω for the unbalanced output.
