Overview
The Continental Type 418F 100 kW Shortwave Broadcast Transmitter
has been designed and developed to provide high quality performance,
optimum efficiency, and long-term reliability in the shortwave
broadcast bands. Operation is provided in the standard amplitude
modulation (AM), AM with Controlled Carrier-level Modulation (CCM)
or optionally with SSB. The 418F has been field tested and proven
with the F system.
The Type 418F 100 kW Transmitter is the direct descendent of a long
and successful line of CEC 100 kW broadcast transmitters. The 418F
employs the highly refined and reliable RF sections of its
predecessors. The RF amplifier tube of the 418F is the 4CV100000C
tetrode, which is one of the longest life tubes available. |
